Refund & Return Policy

This document is available in multiple languages for your convenience. The English-language version is the binding original; in case of any discrepancy between a translation and this English version, the English version prevails.
This Refund & Return Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for purchases made on Practice. It applies to coin packs, voice subscriptions, individual creator-marketplace purchases, and any other paid feature.
Because Practice sells digital content delivered instantly upon purchase, your refund rights depend on (a) which storefront processed your payment (Apple App Store, Google Play, or our web payment provider) and (b) whether you have already used (consumed) the content.
1. Overview
In-app purchases on iOS and Android are processed by Apple App Store and Google Play, respectively. Their refund policies β not ours β govern those transactions. We are not able to issue refunds directly for App Store / Play Store purchases.
Purchases made on our website are processed by our web payment provider (Whop), who acts as Merchant of Record. We can request refunds on your behalf or you can contact Whop directly.
Coins are an in-app virtual currency. Coins themselves have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and are spent when you download flashcard sets from creators or unlock other paid features.
2. Apple App Store and Google Play purchases
Refunds for iOS purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com within Apple's refund window (typically up to 14 days, and longer in some regions where local consumer-protection law extends the period, or at Apple's discretion).
Refunds for Android purchases are handled by Google Play. Request one in your Google Play account or at https://play.google.com/store/account within Google's refund window (typically up to 48 hours for automatic refunds, longer on request or where local consumer-protection law extends the period).
When Apple or Google refunds an in-app purchase, we automatically deduct the corresponding amount from your account β for example, refunded coins are removed from your balance, refunded subscriptions are cancelled, and any unlocked content is removed.
3. Web purchases (Whop)
For purchases made on our website, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@practiceapp.io or contacting Whop support directly. Whop, as Merchant of Record, handles the refund processing.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing typically takes 5β10 business days depending on your bank.
Refund requests that fall outside the 14-day window may still be considered on a case-by-case basis (for example, in the event of clearly defective content or an unauthorized transaction).
4. EU, EEA, and UK consumer right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you are entitled under Article 9 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU (the Consumer Rights Directive) β and equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations β to a 14-day right of withdrawal from any distance contract for digital content.
Important exception: under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive, you lose this 14-day right of withdrawal once delivery of the digital content has begun, provided that (a) you have given your prior express consent to the supply beginning before the end of the 14-day period, and (b) you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. By tapping "Buy" or "Subscribe" on the checkout screen, you give that express consent and acknowledgement, and you understand that delivery of the coins / subscription / set / other digital content begins immediately.
In practical terms: you keep the right of withdrawal for purchases you have not yet used. Once you have spent the coins, downloaded the set, or used the subscription, the right of withdrawal no longer applies. This is the same approach used by every major digital-content platform (App Store, Steam, Spotify, etc.).
Stronger local rights override this Policy. Where the consumer-protection law of your country of residence β including, for example, the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 15/2020, the Brazilian Consumer Defence Code, the Australian Consumer Law, or other mandatory consumer-protection regimes β grants you stronger refund rights than this Policy, those local rights apply in addition to anything stated here.
5. Voice subscriptions
You may cancel an active subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period β you retain access to the subscription benefits until that date, and you are not charged for the next period.
We do not provide partial-month refunds for cancelled subscriptions. Subscription periods that have already begun and been paid for are non-refundable, except where required by mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
If a subscription is renewed automatically and you would like a refund for that renewal, contact Apple, Google, or support@practiceapp.io (depending on where you purchased) within the relevant refund window.
6. Creator marketplace purchases
When you buy a flashcard set or other content from a creator on the marketplace, you spend coins. The same rules apply: once you have downloaded the set, the right of withdrawal is exhausted (see Β§4) and the purchase is non-refundable.
If a downloaded set is materially different from its description, contains broken media, or is otherwise defective in a way that is not your fault, contact support@practiceapp.io within 14 days of the purchase. We will review the case in good faith and, if the complaint is substantiated, refund the coins and (where applicable) request that the creator correct or remove the content.
When a creator-marketplace purchase is refunded β whether by us, Apple, Google, or Whop β the corresponding creator share is deducted from the creator's next payout in accordance with the Creator Agreement.
7. Cases where we will refund regardless of timing
We will issue a refund even outside the standard windows in the following circumstances:
- Unauthorized purchase β your account was charged for a purchase you did not make, for example because of a stolen device or a child using an adult's device without permission.
- Service failure β you paid for a feature that the Service was technically unable to deliver (e.g. a subscription that was billed but never activated due to our error).
- Material content defect β content that does not match its description in a material way and that cannot be made to work (see Β§6).
- Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires a refund that this Policy does not otherwise grant.
8. Situations that are not eligible for a refund
Refunds will normally not be granted in the following circumstances:
- Coins that have already been spent on creator content, voice generation, or any other in-app feature.
- Subscription periods that have already begun (you can cancel future renewals at any time).
- Purchases more than 14 days old, unless one of the exceptions in Β§7 applies.
- Buyer's remorse on creator-marketplace content after you have downloaded the set.
- Loss of access to local-only content due to device loss, factory reset, or app uninstallation (see Terms of Service Β§4).
- Repeat refund requests from the same account in a pattern that suggests abuse of the refund system.
9. Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a purchase, please contact us at support@practiceapp.io first β we will almost always resolve it faster than a chargeback. Filing a chargeback before contacting us may result in suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated.
Unjustified chargebacks (where you continue to use the service or content after disputing the charge) may result in permanent account termination and disqualification from future purchases.
10. How to request a refund
For purchases made on iOS: visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
For purchases made on Android: visit https://play.google.com/store/account and find the order under "Order history".
For purchases made on our website: email support@practiceapp.io with (a) the email address you used at checkout, (b) the date and approximate amount of the purchase in USD, and (c) a brief description of the reason for your request. Alternatively, you may contact Whop directly via their support portal (whop.com/support); Whop is the Merchant of Record for web purchases and can issue refunds without involving us. We respond within 5 business days.
